OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Position Summary:This position provides interventions to persons based on their individual needs for the remediation of functional impairments as a result of injury, illness or disease. Administers standardized and non-standardized testing to evaluate deficits after which, problems and goals for treatment are identified. Initiates therapy and documents patient''s progress through written and verbal reports. Provides education to the patient and their family/caregivers. Participates in in-service education, Performance Improvement work teams and assists with attainment of department goals and objectives as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of Occupational Therapy as normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor''s degree or 2 year Master''s degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Holds active Registration (or registry eligible) in the State of Michigan and Certification of the AOTA.
* Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Is frequently required to physically aide patients, including lifting.
