Sr. SQL/DBA
The position is responsible for administrating the Microsoft SQL Database which supports the ERP system. The SQL DBA will be installing, maintaining and monitoring Microsoft SQL Server relational databases. The position is responsible for database backup, recovery, performance tuning, troubleshooting and security for Microsoft SQL databases. This position will also require administration of Windows Server operating systems.
Responsibilities included
?Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade all Epicor related servers.
?Perform tuning and performance monitoring of all epicure related servers and all Microsoft SQL servers.
?Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade all Microsoft SQL Server relational databases to ensure they are implemented properly, securely, and meet high availability needs.
?Design, manage and test Microsoft SQL database backup and recovery procedures.
?Implement and maintain security strategy for database and table access to assure that only the right associates can access the data.
?Monitor all Microsoft SQL databases to ensure data availability as needed by the organization.
?Assist developers in SQL application design, diagnose performance problems, and perform required database tuning tasks to resolve such issues, including working with both vendor and Microsoft support.
?Monitor Windows systems to maintain high application availability to the organization.
?Contribute to IT strategies by staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
Requirements
?3+ years Microsoft SQL database administration (2005 and 2008)
?Proficiency in development of T-SQL Script writing, testing, and debug.
?Proficiency and experience in DB performance analysis, tuning and issue resolution, as well as maintenance automation tools or scripts.
?Experience with SOX and change control process.
?Experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery for SQL.
?2-4 years Windows administration.
?2-4 years VMware experience.
?Strong communication skills (written and presentation)
?Strong project management and time management skills
?Strong Security and Authentication experience.
These Certification are a plus; MCTS, MCITP, MVP
