The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to perform technical activities that impact the design and manufacturing of advanced electronic systems. Key Responsibilities The Field Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and working with a team of technicians. The selected candidate will be the lead for testing on the assigned system under the direction of the hull lead. The candidate will be responsible for the status and grooming of the assigned system to prepare for test. The candidate will work with his team to meet cost and schedule score card and explain variance if needed. The Field Engineer will create work lists for needed items to begin and complete tests. The candidate will direct trouble shooting efforts and will report anomalies to the Field IPT to create problem reports. The candidate will work with the hull lead to determine the appropriate time to employ sub contractors to work on specific equipment.Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of advanced electronics systems, and the ability to further advance and support GDAIS network technology.The Technology Support Engineer position requires a bachelors degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience in US Navy new construction shipbuilding and testing. ; or a masters degree. Candidate must possess and demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of integration, installation, operations, maintenance and testing of Hull Machinery & Electrical, Combat and Communication systems used in US Naval programs.Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
