RN Med Surg Full Time Nights (12hr)

Job Description:
This position is for Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana.
Involves/informs/supports patient/family in the overall care of the patient. Directs others in care. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses, identifies expected outcomes distinct to patient. Develops POC/prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes/ implements interventions/evaluates patient progress. Assesses each patient/family's need for health teaching & formulate/initiate a teaching plan. Provides environment conducive to safety & security, implements appropriate precautions/measures. Administers medications/ IV's safely according to hospital P&P's. Uses means of communication understandable to patient/family/coworkers.
Works to resolve conflicts as the need arises. Assesses critical events immediately & takes appropriate action. Continually assesses & provides basic comfort & hygiene measures. Upholds basic rights of privacy & seeks to preserve dignity/independence of expression of all patients/families. Maintains & updates own knowledge & competency/partakes in required competencies. Monitors quality of care. Practices appropriate measures of infection control using principles of standard precautions. Provides aggressive pain management measures & continually evaluates patient’s response to their pain management. Maintains a non-judgmental approach to patients need for pain medications. Demonstrates knowledge & skill in all unit specific policies and standards.
Qualifications: CA RN, BLS. Minimum 1year experience preferred. Must have the ability to meet essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
