Job Description
Under the general guidance of the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for the overall operation and direction of internal financial reporting accuracy and efficient internal processes, general ledger maintenance and accuracy, intercompany reporting, fixed assets accounting, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, tax compliance, and accounting continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintains the reconciliation and review process for all general ledger accounts.
Coordinates month-end close activities with Shared Services Center personnel, ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
Responsible for all fixed asset accounting activities, including depreciation and capital-expenditure forecasting.
Assists with the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and other financial evaluations as required.
Responsible for all aspects of Sarbanes Oxley initiatives. Ensures sufficient internal controls exist to safeguard company assets and maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial systems.
Assists with analysis and reconciliation of accounts receivable for one or more customers.
Responsible for promoting continuous improvement efforts, targeting accounting work flows and systems, and assisting in non-accounting initiatives as required.
Assists Accounting manager with the development and motivation of team members.
Responsible for all real estate, personal property, and sales tax returns and audits.
General responsibility for all insurance matters.
Education Requirements Bachelors degree with a Finance or Accounting major.
CPA/CMA or MBA preferred.
Experience and Skill Requirements Must have 5 years of accounting experience - automotive industry experience preferred. Must have excellent communication skills. Must have advanced Excel skills. Experience using Hyperion Enterprise and QAD, SAP, or comparable ERP system preferred.
