Responsible for assisting in the design of tooling and equipment and in planning the manufacturing process for parts and assemblies for a designated manufacturing area. Work is of a technical nature where independent judgment is used and decisions made within the limits of general practices and policies. Work without continual supervision, but frequently instructed or directed by supervisor.
- Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and or project
- Analyzes process materials or product designs for the best methods of manufacture
- Specifies tools, equipment and process to produce a part or assembly or evaluate processes in assigned areas
- Assists in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes
- Assists in developing new tools, equipment, and or processes
- Frequent contact with others outside the work group
Qualifications
Basic Required
- Relatively high level of analytical ability where problems are complex required
- Oral and written communication skills
- Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
- Understanding of manufacturing and tooling processes required
Education
- Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering or equivalent experience
