POSITION SUMMARY
With general management direction, and through participation as a member of the YNA EIBU-EIS leadership staff, plans, organizes, directs, controls and implements the design and development of world class automotive electronics and instruments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Lead or support a team of electrical engineers on the design and the development of the electrical hardware for automotive electronics and instrumentation.
. Responsible for leading or supporting the delivery of the electrical design work products for a project: schematic & PCB design, calculations, DFMEAs, Drawings, Simulations, etc.
. Responsible for leading or executing electrical project monitoring and control activities such as: Work planning, team meetings, open issues list & risk management.
. Lead or participate in electrical design reviews: System design, Schematic, PCB, component selection, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), EMC, thermal etc.
. Analyze and timely resolve technical issues surfacing during the design and development of electronic modules.
. Create or review the design verification plans, design calculations and engineering reports.
. Conduct or review the design verification tasks and corresponding engineering reports.
. Analyze and timely resolve technical issues surfacing during the design and development of electronic modules.
. Prepare or review the design documentation for release.
. Provide manufacturing support for prototype builds if needed.
. Provide support to the Test Center in the investigation of module related issues surfacing during design validation testing.
. Lead or support the investigation of project issues at the module and vehicle levels.
. Participate in customer and system meetings as needed.
. Support new business quotation and VA/VE activities as required.
. Support manufacturing trial builds and product launches as needed.
. Participate in component supplier and production lines audits as needed.
. Interface with customer and other internal groups such as systems engineering, CAD, test engineering, product validation and manufacturing as needed.
. Constantly participate in improvement of personal and departmental technical capabilities.
. Support the electrical team's continuous improvement efforts in design cost reductions, improve quality and customer satisfaction.
. Cultivate a culture and an environment within the team that results in the highest level of commitment to continuous improvement in cost, quality and delivery.
. Follow processes, procedures and standards of Quality System in all work activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Degree Requirements: Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Certification Requirements: Electrical/Electronics. Refer to the above distinctive requirements
Previous Experience: . 10+ years of automotive or related electrical/electronics production design experience
. Demonstrated capability in leading a group of design engineers in the design and development of an automotive project from concept through production.
. Knowledge of the automotive design cycle.
. Able to prioritize tasks effectively and handle various tasks at the same time.
. Solid understanding of automotive specifications.
. Extensive experience with troubleshooting and solving problems related to EMC compliance, thermal management, manufacturability, etc.
. Extensive experience in circuit design, PCB design, work planning, DFMEA, and risk management.
. Hands-on experience with test & measurement equipment.
. Strong interpersonal, technical, organizational, presentational and motivational skills.
. Positive attitude and willingness to mentor other engineers in the electrical design team.
. Organized and quality oriented person with good oral and written communication skills.
. Able to maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality as well as to fully comply with YNA policies.
Travel Requirements: Overseas anywhere except countries with visa restrictions
On Call Requirements: As needed.
