Develops and implements the overall Residential Program to meet the individual needs of all Pocono Center clients within guidelines of the Licensing Body.Serves as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team of the Pocono Center.Overall accountability for all aspects of client care. Ensure a non-threatening nurturing environment where clients are free to express themselves in an appropriate manner and are given support and respect, as well as, re-direction when necessary.Positive role model for staff, establish and maintains open lines of communication.Key link in communication among families/community/licensing body/agencies.Is integral part in the selection of staff, as well as, in scheduling staff for the home unit.Responsible for providing in-service programs in their area of expertise.Accountable for client and unit financial accounts.
Education: Four year degree is preferred.Preferably in education, social sciences and/or related health; and at least three years experience in a residential treatment setting, preferably within Devereux.
Experience: At least three years Supervisory experience in a residential treatment setting is required.Must demonstrate appropriate Core Competencies.
Physical Requirements: Requires walking and standing1/2 to3/4 of the workday;1/4 to1/2 of the workday sitting.Frequently requires stooping, bending. Occasionally requires lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Requires vision and physical ability to regularly operate Devereux vehicles. Requires physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid procedures, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention techniques.Significant and frequent use of physical requirements associated with verbal and written communication. Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
Work Environment: Regularly works with clients with unpredictable behavior. Regularly works inside in areas that are adequately ventilated and lighted. Some fluctuation in temperature. May occasionally work outside while accompanying clients on off-site activities and appointments.
