Job Details:
Working in a fast paced environment,assists the Pharmacist in hospital pharmacy to prepare and dispense medications. Duties include preparing basic pre-made IV solutions, under the supervision of Pharmacist. Fills, updates, delivers, and exchanges patient medication cassettes. Exchanges, fills, transfers and inspects floor stock for all departments. Fills and maintains automated medication dispensing units. Barcodes and prepares unit-dose packaging of all medications. Triages phone calls, filling first issue medications and delivering medications to the floors. Issues and delivers narcotics to the patient care areas. Audits and handles reporting on discrepancies in the hospital, including narcotics. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Counts stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records. Processes records of medication and equipment dispensed to customer or hospital patient, computes charges, and enters data in computer. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware according to prescribed methods.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; NH Technician registration or eligible required. CPht or eligible preferred.
Highly Desired: CPht or eligible and some higher education beyond High School. Pharmacy technician experience, specificially hospital pharmacy technician experience highly preferred.
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
