ICN Transport Nurse

At the direction of and in collaboration with the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) Medical Director and department leadership, the ICN Transport RN will be accountable for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates during transport. The Transport RN utilizes expanded nursing skills and is responsible for accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in accordance with established protocols during all phases of transport for acutely ill infants requiring transport from community hospitals to the Intensive Care Nursery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Minimum Education and Experience:Registered Nurse, BSN preferred, with a minimum of three years of level three neonatal intensive care experience and actual transport experience in the last 5 years. Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team required. Certification in neonatal intensive care specialty preferred within one year of employment. Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required.Must meet crew weight standard (100kg or less, transport ready, in uniform).National Certification Corporation Neonatal Transport Practitioner certification preferred after 2 years in role. EMT First Responder Certification achieved within 18 months of hire required.
