Canagliflozin is a novel, oral, anti-diabetic agent currently in Phase III. This product is a member of a new class of diabetes drugs and represents a significant opportunity to improve the treatment of Type 2 diabetes.
This position will be responsible for Consumer Marketing efforts, as a critical part of a team responsible for effectively launching Canagliflozin. The individual in this position will be responsible for driving the Consumer Marketing strategy and tactical plan. In this role they will need to effectively: Develop deep consumer insights, and utilize them to guide the development of our overall consumer positioning and strategy; Develop an overall targeting strategy for consumers, identifying optimal communication channels and vehicles; Lead development of messaging and communication tactics; Lead development of a Patient Support Program; Analyze key market and performance indicators, and adjusts the overall plan accordingly, in an effort to maximize its effectiveness; Track competitive activities and develop strategies to address competitive threats; Work productively with external agencies and key internal cross functional groups within the organization (Advocacy, Information Technology, Legal, Market Access, Market Research, Medical Affairs, Procurement, Public Relations, Regulatory, Sales).

A minimum of a Bachelor''s degree is required, an MBA is preferred. A minimum of 5 years demonstrated in-line consumer marketing experience, with a minimum of 2 years of DTC Pharmaceutical experience is required. Diabetes therapeutic area experience is preferred. Pharmaceutical marketing experience is preferred. Candidates must have good communication and organization skills, be able to work in a team environment, and be consumer/market oriented. Ability to work within and lead a cross-functional team is required. Strong business analytics, consumer insights development, understanding of core marketing levers and advertising experience are required. Prior experience in driving new product launch, marketing programs and/or sales is an asset. A demonstrated leadership and consistent delivery of strong results is required. This position requires approximately 20% domestic travel.
