Major Duties & Functions
We are seeking a software engineer to join a small team leading the design and development of applications in a Java/Linux environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Duties
Qualifications You Must Have
* Applicant must have experience designing, developing, and deploying Java-based applications on Unix or Linux platforms with web-based user interfaces
* Applicant must be familiar with the tools and techniques of developing all tiers of web-based applications
* Applicant must be authorized to work permanently in the US
* Applicant must be willing and able to obtain US Government TS/SCI clearance
Additional Qualifications
Familiarity with information assurance, and identification and correction of security vulnerabilities.
General Responsibilities
Works on software development initiatives of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Exhibits functional expertise, works on complex problems requiring a high level of ingenuity and creativity gained through years of practical experience. Frequently contributes to the development of new principles, theories and methods. Often self initiated, work is usually performed independently with minimal direction from manager. May provide technical leadership to less experienced professional staff, as either a generalist or specialist within area of expertise. Typically requires 6 years related experience with a BS; 4-6 years experience with an MS.
