Job Details:

+ The Clinical Director of Women and Children Services is responsible for all aspects of program design, marketing and management for the Women and Children Service Line. Major Duties: Meets organizational expectations as defined by the Employee Standards of Performance, hospital and department policies and procedures, and the hospital's strategic goals. Verbalizes a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction measures and actively participates in improvement initiatives. Institutes and manages the processes by which patients flow in and out of the assigned areas, coordinating with other departments to ensure optimum patient care. Oversees the administrative and clinical management of the Labor and Delivery, NICU, Nursery, Post partum, and Family Services departments. Responsible for physician relations relating to the appropriate physician group, resolving issues as needed. Markets the Services Line program to the community and referring physicians. Establishes indicators and reports to Administration and the Board of Commissioners on significant indicators regarding quality, productivity, patient flow and other important functions relating to PI in the Service Line. Provides oversight and direction for Managers and Team Leaders and other employees in scope of authority. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the organization. Education/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Preferred: Knowledge of productivity system. MSN and ANCC with working clinical knowledge of patient care according to service lines. Required: Knowledge of AWHONN and other applicable standards and how they affect the Women and Children Service Line. Insight into strategic and financial planning, departmental interactions and dynamics. Demonstrated ability to set goals and monitor performance; Computer skills. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to multitask and demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills. BSN with a minimum of 5 years experience in management of a healthcare department or facility. Licensure/Certification: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
