The Brand Manager is responsible for the management of some key global Personal Care brands in special Skin So Soft, Avon Baby and Avon Mum - from brand strategy & equity to the 3-year innovation pipeline for those brands globally. Besides, he/she will also lead the segment strategy, mission and vision for Avon global children business (includes different brands and segments both regional and global). The Brand Manager must have a strong track record of results & exhibit strong leadership capabilities. The candidate will need to balance between being hands-on and at the same time have a strategic knowledge of the business, identify growth opportunities for the category & his/her brands globally; and strong marketing skills. Finally, strong team player with genuine interest in working with markets outside of USA and colleagues from other cultural backgrounds.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategy:
. Leads the development of mission, objectives and 3-year strategy for his brands as well as agreement with regions.
. Assists on the development of global strategies, vision and mission for Personal Care
. Global development of SSS/Avon Mum&Baby / Kids innovation strategy.
New Product Development:
. Lead innovation process for his/her brands from insight generation, through consumer-relevant ideas, concept development and project leadership working with a cross-functional team to transform idea into consumer relevant products to Avon Key regions.
. Understanding of gaps in market and portfolio and propose new ideas/projects.
. Manages Key Brands/Category Initiatives: drives the brand/category by working with cross functional team (Global Product Innovation, R&D, Package design engineering, Design, Creative, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance) progress and tracks the development of all product initiatives and ensure timely launch within cost/margin objectives
. Develops an effective dialogue with the Regional marketing groups to provide timely communication of product development process (agree strategies, innovation plans, get inputs, input on regional initiatives, etc) and ensures that all market needs are met in a cost effective and strategic manner
. Responsible for developing creative briefs (brochure and designs), evaluating and directing development by providing strong, clear and constructive feedback. Ensure Regional Marketing agreement on creative direction.
. Provides guidance as necessary to Regional Marketing initiatives (in special overlaps with global plans and brand guardianship)
Leadership:
. Manages and develops direct report (s)
. 5 years of Relevant Marketing & Brand management experience
. Preference for candidates with Beauty/Personal Care experience
. Experience managing people
Desired Skills:
. MBA is preferred
. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, excellent presentation skills.
. Ability to lead with persuasion/influencing for results
. Project management skills with experience energizing, providing direction and leading an experienced cross-functional team through the development and execution of multiple new product launches in a fast pace environment
. Experience working in a matrix organization
