An solid understanding of one or more aspects of the group's activities (capital markets, securities and derivatives trading, cash fund management, securities lending, transition management) would be an advantage. The Trading & Liquidity Strategies team is responsible for trade execution across all asset classes managed at BlackRock, and includes Cash Management and Securities Lending activities.

Responsibilities
Within the Trading & Liquidity Strategies (TLS) Business Management team, the VP is responsible for helping define and communicate TLS's strategic priorities and manage the overall business, working closely with internal business partners and senior TLS management. The VP is responsible for quality and timely execution of the following activities:

Planning and prioritization:
Planning and monitoring: Work with the Head of TLS and TLS COO and business leads to establish priorities for the TLS team, build the annual operating plan and monitor success against the plan. Work with team leads and business partners in HR and Finance to align budget, hiring plans and operating plans.
Cross-functional decision-making and prioritization. Work with TLS project leads to help with cross-functional coordination, to resolve bottlenecks and to guide decision-making and prioritization across Global Trading's many businesses.
Managing the business:
Internal and external point of contact: Act as a primary contact into TLS senior management both internal to the team and with other BLK business partners, on strategy, governance, people management, reporting, and finance.
BAU processes: In coordination with business area leaders, ensure that 'business as usual' needs are met. This will include shepherding HR processes, such as comp and reviews, as well as corporate processes including reporting and audit issue resolution.
Reporting: Work with data providers on reporting and MIS to support the day-to-day management of the trading business.
Execution / management of specific strategic projects : Plan, maintain and drive a limited number of key strategic projects, with a focus on processes. Responsibilities will include project planning, establishing governance, cross-functional coordination, and reporting back to senior management on progress vs. milestones.
