International Production Manager

The Production Manager manages the placement, execution and follow-up of manufacturing orders and by ensuring the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods.

Strategy & Innovation

+ The Production Manager role requires the ideal candidate to manage all aspects of International Production, from placing orders to final shipment.

Operations and Results

+ Stays abreast of compliance regulations for each country.

+ Ensure export garments are compliant with all government regulations.

+ Develop and implement an export compliance program for each country.

+ Works with technical design to develop spec to meet country requirements.

+ Manage the garment testing process from beginning to end. Submit testing samples for country-compliant testing and resolve issues by coordinating with all stakeholders.

+ Suggest enhancements, limitations, and modifications necessary to successfully manage a line that meets compliance standards for multiple countries.

+ Resolve all shipment issues by liaising with overseas offices and individual factories.

+ Develop and implement a protocol for ordering compliant trims from the nominated suppliers.

+ Develop a costing component protocol for separate specs, trims, and testing.

+ Monitor Production Status.

+ Follow up on QC inspections, adhere to and enforce production standards set by the company.

+ Coordinate with factories and internal contacts to ensure billing process is timely and accurate.

Customers & Relationships

+ Coordinate interoffice communication and follow-up with internal and external customers and contacts regarding production, including suppliers and vendors.

+ Perform special projects as assigned.

+ Travel to factories and international trade shows, where appropriate.

Leadership & Teams

+ Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary.

+ Attract, develop and retain talent.

+ Monitor and evaluate performance of individuals.

+ Highly organized with experience shipping to China, Korea, Japan, and other countries.

+ Ability to negotiate and resolve problems with factories, nominated suppliers, and logistics partners.

+ Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous.

+ Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design.

+ Knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques.

+ Bachelor's degree.

+ 4 - 7 years experience in apparel production and sourcing; relevant experience in category.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computers.
