Responsibilities Role Purpose
The Project Manager, Cable Scheduling and Finance Systems will execute and support technology projects/systems related to the program scheduling and finance functions across NBCU's Cable News & Entertainment portfolio. They will participate in the delivery of new capabilities (program profitability analysis, program planning), onboarding new lines of business (MSNBC, Sprout, CNBC World) and enhancing/maintaining/supporting the existing enterprise application portfolio.
.Build effective partnerships with business teams and provide onsite support ensuring stability of existing applications and successful implementation and adoption of technology solutions
.Work closely with the business to manage user expectations, understand & prioritize business requirements, conduct user training, perform system demos and create documentation
.Manage the deployment and communication around the quarterly & ad-hoc product releases
.Manage the delivery of business projects & initiatives; Create project plans, align resources, monitor status and highlight risks & options
.Manage onshore / offshore development resources to develop business solutions
.Perform business analysis, document processes/workflows, identify automation requirements
.Ensure completion of all project-related artifacts, including functional specifications, technical specifications, use cases, test plans, and project plans.
.Coordinate all aspects of testing: conduct functional tests, coordinate performance test and user acceptance testing
.Drive project delivery by collaborating with internal teams (infrastructure, application and client services), business unit teams and external vendor
.Manage work efforts of project team members, hold recurring meetings to review progress/deliverables, and provide regular written/verbal status updates to management.
.Participate in budgeting and proposal efforts by completing project scoping, cost-benefit analyses, and level of effort assessments.
.Become a subject matter expert in the system as well as the business process that he/she is supporting (ie Program Scheduling and/or Program Finance, Production, etc).
.Occasional off-hours support may be necessary to address outages or pressing system issues.
Qualifications/Requirements .Minimum 3 years' experience within Information Technology roles related to software development
.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Client Facing / Business Relationship Management role
.Minimum of 3 years' experience in Project Management with delivery accountability
.Minimum 3 years' experience with business analysis & requirements gathering, writing and managing use cases and functional/technical requirements creation
.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
.Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook
.Proficient with Microsoft Project or similar project management tool
Desired Characteristics .Experience within media entertainment industry
.Experience with custom and vendor managed solutions
.Experience managing 3rd party team resources as well as an extended team of resources
.Experience with Business Intelligence Tools a plus
.Integration (ETL & Data) and Data Management Experience
.Excellent communication, presentation & analysis skills with solid business acumen
