Job Summary
Zurich''s Risk Engineering Training Program is a hands-on program for highly talented and motivated college graduates who are interested in working one-on-one with customers in various industries and contributing to Zurich''s success in your role as a risk engineer.
This program will start you on an exciting and challenging career path that will help you capitalize on your technical education working as part of a global insurance leader. This isn''t your typical "desk" job, as a Zurich risk engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a flexible and fast paced environment, travel to customer locations to perform assessments, analyze and evaluate customers'' risks, think and act on your feet and much more! You will also be able to team with Underwriting to help price and retain accounts.
•Participants go through a structured 27 week training program followed by mentoring and technical support with on-the-job training that gives them the technical and real life perspective to understand the role of Risk Engineer.
•The program starts in June 2013 and will include 2-4 weeks of classroom training in our Schaumburg, IL office (housing accommodations provided by Zurich).
•The Risk Engineering role is a work from home role within the assigned territory. Travel is estimated at 25-50%. A company car is provided after successful completion of the training program and assignment to field work.
Final candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle record background check, because this position may include a company car.
Job Qualifications
We select team players who are strategic thinkers, creative and confident risk-takers to participate in the program. In addition, you must:
• Have a Bachelor''s degree with a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA
• High level of computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely
• Have the ability to travel to Schaumburg, IL for 2-4 weeks of classroom training
• Ability to travel up to 50%
