Electronics Test Technician

The test technician will work under the direction of the logistics manager to perform multiple
tasks in the production areas.


Test, troubleshoot and repair production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as laser diode drivers, high voltage pulsers, test equipment, and automated test systems, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, electronic and electrical testing. Keep laboratory notebook, assist in maintaining BOM, schematics and test procedures. Work under direction of Production/Logistics.


Electronics -- Knowledge of circuit boards, ICs, MOSFETs, electronic components, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software. Must be able to read schematics and use printed circuit board layout files. Technology experience must include both digital and analog electronic circuit designs and assemblies.

Test Equipment Must be familiar with operation and use of standard electronics testing equipment such as multi-meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes etc.

Computer Knowledge Must be familiar with use and navigation of Windows XP/7 operating system, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and be capable of using the internet to find information and use email.

Troubleshooting ability to read schematics, gerber files and other technical documents to identify and repair electronic equipment and assemblies to the component level.

Soldering Must be able to solder to IPC610C Class 2 or better for through-hole and surface mount using a microscope as necessary. This will include both leaded and lead-free (RoHS) solder and the ability to replace packages like QFP, 0603, 0805, 2512, SOT23, and DDPAK etc.

Quality Control Analysis -- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Determine compliance to specification.

Writing -- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.


2 year degree in electronics or equivalent military training.
5 years of work experience post-graduation
High voltage/high current experience (1-10KV/1-600A) preferred, pulsed power experience also preferred.
