Position Description
Provide findings of compliance to the Organization Management Team (OMT) on behalf of BCA Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) in area of Chart A - Structures to support Airplane Programs or Commercial Aviation Services organizations. These organizations require an engineer with existing or recent (within last 2 years) delegation/authority as an independent DER or Unit Member under an ODA that embraces airframe components such as wing, fuselage, empennage, landing gear, flight controls, engine mounts, and special components with authorization in areas such as Static Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Design and Construction, Damage Tolerance Evaluations including Metallic and Nonmetallic Materials. Special Authorizations in area of Major Repair/Major Alterations also desired.
Develops and/or provides technical guidance to engineering team supporting the development of substantiating data required to support the making or recommending findings of compliance to the OMT on behalf of BCA ODA. Responsibilities include evaluating and accepting certification plans, witnessing authorized compliance tests and performing compliance inspections, making findings of compliance within the scope of their authority, requesting conformity on behalf of the FAA, and approving alternative means of compliance to FAA airworthiness directives when delegated.
A DER or E-UM in good standing with current or recent (within past 2 years) delegation/authority for Chart A-Structures with coverage for coordinates covering a minimum of Static Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Design and Construction with Repair/Alteration Approval Authority is preferred. Damage Tolerance Evaluation Authority also highly desired.
