Assistant Catering Manager

## Job Summary
The Assistant Catering Manager of Operations assists the Catering Manager in executing all essential functions relative to events produced by Celebrations Catering. These responsibilities primarily include: analyzing all events in order to properly administer set-up, execution, breakdown and clean up; ongoing training of catering staff; scheduling and overseeing event staff; proper maintenance of vehicles; financial accountability relative to staffing for events; organization of all work areas; supports the highest possible client/customer satisfaction levels relative to external and internal customers.
This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.
## Position Qualifications
High School/GED and six years related food/retail experience with at least two of those years in a supervisory role. OR Applicant must have two years college and four years experience in hospitality or related field.
Experience catering for large and multiple events, developing and training employees in a food service setting, creating and developing menus, and financial management (cost controls, managing food and labor expenses, costing menus) in a culinary setting.
Familiarity with implementing food, safety and sanitation standards; Demonstrated ability to manage and provide leadership for a diverse workforce; Ability to anticipate and solve problems; Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives; and customer service acumen.
Valid Drivers License required before hire;
Food Handler's Permit/Serve Safe Certification required after hire
Must complete LDP training within three years of hire.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and the ability to learn applicable software programs
Ability to effectively apply principles and methods consistent with accepted food preparation, purchasing, and inventory control. Must have good interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of progressive managerial experience.
