We are currently seeking a Full time Meeting and Social Sales Manager for The Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls Ontario. (Full time in conjunction with fluctuation in business demands)
The role is to provide the highest standard of food and beverage service in an atmosphere of exquisite hospitality while running a profitable business.

We are currently seeking a Full time (Full time in conjunction with fluctuation in business demands) Meeting and Social Sales Manager
The Successful Candidate:
* Is self-motivated, passionate and extremely hard-working

* Is able to follow instructions and follow through on assigned duties
* Will assist in executing the Sales and Marketing Plan
* Has excellent guest and client interaction skills
* Is able to work during the week on a full time seasonal basis and occasional weekends
* Is able to think on his/her feet while making informed decisions that keep the best interests of the client in mind, while protecting the positive image of the company
* Is committed to improving their own skill set and is a good critic of themselves first
* Creates, develops and maintains the highest level of excellence throughout their department
* Is creative, can think outside the box and able to add differentiation to each event
* Is passionate about building strong relationships and delivering outstanding service, hospitality and ultimately creating Raving Fans
* Build and maintain solid relationships with new and existing clients
* Earn new accounts (Social, Corporate Social, Fundraisers, Charity events) for the
* convention centre through strategic initiatives
* Conduct sales calls including 'cold calls' to increase our client list
* Constantly create and source new business opportunities
* Prepare weekly sales reports, monthly forecasts, annual forecast and month end reports. Track sales process and determine ways to improve
* Participate in networking opportunities in industry events
* Arrange & conduct regular site tours
* Respond quickly to client requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure satisfaction
* Good negotiation and strong sales skills are a must
* Is detail oriented and can put together banquet event orders
Qualifications;
* Nice, friendly, hardworking, positive person with a go-getter attitude
* Minimum (1) year previous experience in Catering Sales
* Ability to create Banquet Event Orders, put together various promotions for both catering and retail and accomplish various administrative tasks as assigned.
* Experience in the Convention Centre industry or in Food and Beverage Sales
* Experience in developing menu and group packages to drive revenues
* Ability to be creative in seeking new business opportunities
* Must be able to put together solid presentations and client proposals
* Knowledge of the competition and the necessary steps needed to WIN
* The ability to build solid relationships with clients is key
* Computer skills a definite asset Word and all Microsoft Office programs
* Ability to multitask in an office setting
* Ability to operate telephone and communicate
* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
* Ability to access and produce information from a computer
* Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day
