Assistant Safety Coordinator- Peoria, IL
This is a full time, exempt position.
Job description:
Seeking a candidate possessing the ability to develop and administer policies to establish and promote safe working conditions and behaviors within the company in an industrial manufacturing facility, and to ensure compliance with federal and state workplace regulations. The candidate must have the ability to anticipate, advise, and consult with employees about safety related issues to provide appropriate recommendations to achieve a zero incident culture. Candidate must be able to use internal customer service to coordinate safety training activities identifying needs, scheduling programs and evaluating effectiveness. They will be expected to actively seek leading indicators to predict incidents and prevent reoccurrence, help manage PSM program and audits; oversee safety committee goals and achievement of the committee goals. The applicant must have the ability to compile data, track report results and maintain databases along with maintaining all federal, state, and local safety and health compliance programs. The candidate must be highly organized, able to multi-task, self -motivated, and able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
* 40% Field time in the plant
* Assist in Behavior based safety programs/ policies
* Establish usage guidelines and training for current PHA process
* Streamline the MOC/PSSR process and provide training for department management
* Assist in monthly safety training
* Assist in developing new programs/ training for contractors and ADM employees
* Assist in updating current safety programs
* Assist in updating and giving new hire training
* Maintain current PSM program
* Participate in on-site safety committees
* Participate In all incident investigations
