Description:The required scope of work, skill set/experience includes the following:
The Sr. Safety Data Programmer is responsible for providing programming support to internal GMS customers. The Programmer researches data issues and performs complex database searches that cannot be performed using the GMS Adverse Event / Data Warehouse application software. The Sr. Safety Data Programmer is responsible for designing and developing validated reports in accordance with SOPs and SWPs. Additionally, the Sr. Safety Data Programmer is responsible to ensure that search algorithms are clearly and consistently documented and that quality checks are completed to ensure high quality output. The Sr. Safety Data Programmer will mentor and direct the daily work of more junior programmers. SME for the GMS AE database / data warehouse questions / search strategies.
Skills Required:• Argus experience
• Advanced understanding of relational databases, database programming skills and tools, intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Previous pharmaceutical experience and strong understanding of safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Problem solving abilities and independent decision making skills.
• Clear concise documentation skills.
• Applied understanding of medical terminology; knowledge of MedDRA, WHO preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize workload, manage time and meet deadlines and ability to delegate work.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic statistical principals.
• Ability to develop validation plans and user testing documentation.
• BS Computer Science (or related experience).
