Responsibilities
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is a member of operations team whose primary goal is to help operations department satisfy customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery, in a safe manner while maximizing productivity. Continuously examines the designated work areas to improve. Supports the activities of general maintenance. Participates in troubleshooting and maintaining production and plant assets. Physically performs all the job tasks required for all aspects of building and equipment, maintenance, repair or improvements. Works with the maintenance staff and maintenance foremen to ensure that maintenance tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner.
Qualifications
.2+ years experience in a steel service center or related manufacturing environment
.Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and welding tools
.Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems (including, but not limited to programmable logic controllers, solid state motor drives, overhead traveling cranes, and hydraulic circuits)
.Knowledge of operations efficiency and division equipment a plus
.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an aptitude for MIS systems and technologies
.Basic math and use of precision instrument skills
.Proven training or experience operating specific equipment and motor vehicles
.Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking skills required
.Proven teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently
.Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
