These employment opportunities are with theOregon Department of Corrections,General Services Divisionin theInformation Technology Services(ITS) section.There are currently four (4) vacancies; three (3) located in Salem and one (1) primarily stationed in Wilsonville but may frequently travel to Portland. This recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy. Three positions are represented by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); One position is represented by the Association of Oregon Corrections Employees (AOCE). This position is located in Salem.
The goal of the recruitment is to fill the positions at the Information Systems Specialist-5 (ISS-5) level, however, we encourage candidates who meet the qualifications of an Information Systems Specialist-3 (ISS-3) to apply. The monthly salary for the ISS-3 is $3353-$4858. If you are selected to underfill, you will be reclassified upward upon meeting the requirements of the ISS-5. Two of the positions will be available as underfills.
Duties & Responsibilities
This position performs the critical function of ensuring that automation equipment used by DOC staff and multi-jurisdictional business partners is functional and able to access the DOC network. This position is primarily responsible for an assigned region; it provides additional assistance, support and backup to other regions throughout the state as needed.

Information Systems Specialist 5

* Three (3) years of professional consultative, technical, or administrative experience which includes designing, constructing, or analyzing information systems. Experience must include installing and troubleshooting the newer Windows operating systems;ANDat least 30 quarter (20 semester) credits in computer science.
OR
*
Five (5) years of professional consultative, technical, or administrative experience which includes designing, constructing, or analyzing information systems. Experience must include installing and troubleshooting the newer Windows operating systems. Two (2) years must have included providing knowledge of information systems theory and principals.
15 quarter (10 semester) graduate-level computer science, software engineering, information systems, or equivalent credits may substitute for one (1) year of the professional experience.
Information Systems Specialist 3 Underfill

* a Bachelor''s degree with an emphasis in computer science;
OR
* an Associate degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 30 quarter (20 semester) computer science credits;ANDone (1) year of professional information systems experience with communications, software, hardware devices, and data;

three (3) years of professional information systems experience with communications, software, hardware devices, and data.
Desired Attributes
* A+, Net+, and MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) or equivalent certification
* Have an electrical low voltage license (LME, LEB, LEA) or equivalent license
* Experience with Customer Assistance/Technical Support
* Experience with Network Support
* Experience with System Maintenance and Installation
* Hardware and Software Support
