Job Summary Responsible for the repair and maintenance of equipment in a food manufacturing facility. Provides support by performing daily preventative maintenance tasks and assisting with electro/mechanical repairs. We currently have openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift. All candidates must be available to work weekends or alternative schedules if needed. Some overtime may be required. Follow Safety, GMP, and quality procedures.
Position Responsibilities o Responsible for the mechanical maintenance activities on all the manufacturing processing equipment in any area of the manufacturing plant.
o Responsible for troubleshooting of any and or designated production lines.
o Responsible for performing adjustments and assisting the operators with problems with the different machines to improve quality and efficiency of the lines.
o Responsible for performing major preventative maintenance activities on the production lines.
o Responsible for dismantling the process equipment in any area of the manufacturing plant and work with schematics, electrical diagrams, blue prints or verbal instructions.
o Responsible for monitoring the production lines and reporting any abnormal condition of the machines to the maintenance coordinator or upper management.
o Responsible for monitoring all the safety items on the machines and keeping these on optimal operational conditions.
o Responsible for communicating with production personnel regarding status of the lines.
o Receives requests from production and other departments and ensures the completion of these requests in a timely manner.
o Be able to prioritize requests so that they are accomplished in a timely manner.
o Maintain and repair production equipment including pneumatic pumps and motors, vacuum pumps, compressors, solvent lines, water lines, air lines, reactor vessels, and HVAC systems.
o Remove, repair, reassemble, align and/or adjust mechanical components such as gearboxes, chain drives, rollers, conveyors, etc.
o Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment problems and determine action necessary to repair.
o Dismantle machines, make adjustments and install replacement parts or repair parts.
o Maintain equipment logs and records as required.
o Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
o Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
o Bring to the attention of plant supervision any problems with equipment, damage to the facility or safety hazards.
o Follow safety and emergency standards at all times and notify plant supervisor of any hazards.
o Perform any other duties as required,
o Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
Position Qualifications o High School Diploma or GED preferred. Prefer Associates Degree or equivalent from Trade School.
o At least 2 Years of experience.
o Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
o Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, climb, grasp, and lift throughout shift.
o Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
o Employee is exposed to hot work areas.
o Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
o Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
o Good level interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
o Ability to follow written policies, programs and SOP's.
o Must be able to use computerized maintenance management system as well as other plant computer systems.
o Food industry and experience preferred
