**Role Summary:**

The Commercial Staff Manager plays an essential role in the growth of the Bently Nevada projects business. The Commercial Staff Manager is the primary in-region driver of Inquiry-to-Quote (ITO) process from the Bid/No Bid decision to project hand-off. This role ensures the development of a team that is responsible for creation and execution of the final technical & commercial content of a project bid, coordinates necessary resources, organizes applicable risk review meetings.


**Essential Responsibilities:**

In the role of Commercial Staff Manager, you will:


+ Be responsible for the development and growth of a team of about 15 people

+ Have a deep understanding of the risk process and tools for ensuring appropriate bid compliance and risk mitigation prior to release of a proposal to a customer

+ Drive accuracy and usage of the CRM tool

+ Develop high-level strategies for new ways to bid and offer the product. Then bring the high-level strategies into day to day implementation

+ Contribute to individual deal strategies to drive improvement in both win rate and hit rate

+ Support and maintain ITO Team metrics related to orders, margins. Proposal cycle and Quality

+ Review Customer Purchase Orders to ensure compliance with approved price levels, terms and cycle commitments etc to coordinate Hand off to Project Execution teams

+ Be responsible for all aspects of contract management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, transactional pricing, customer negotiations, customer communications and issue resolution

+ Be familiar with impact of all T&Cs clauses such that the requirement for input from a Contracts Manager or Legal specialist is identifiable. Such T&Cs clauses can include, but not limited to: Limitation of Liability, Indemnities, Liquidated Damages, Termination and Suspensions, Performance or Payment Bonds

+ Ensure the Risk Review Checklist is used for BN and the region to seek and obtain approval for deviations and ensure associated price or scope action recommendations are identified to provide clear guidance to approved signatories to the consequences of their approval. Where no deviation exists for a given checkpoint, completes the appropriate checkpoint entry

+ Able to lead negotiation of non-standard T&Cs with customers

+ Present high-risk projects to Leadership Team for discussion and approval prior to quotation

+ Execute process improvements for a faster, more efficient team

+ Drive the hand-off process with Order-to-Remittance (OTR) team to develop documentation sets required for hand-off meetings, and process **Qualifications/Requirements:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 9 years of experience in commercial negotiation)

+ Minimum 5 years experience in commercial negotiation **Desired Characteristics:**

+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

+ Ability to influence and lead cross functional teams

+ Effective use of personal computer technologies, including MSOffice and platforms such as Salesforce.com

+ Effective oral and written communication

+ Creative solution and problem-solving skills

+ Knowledge of legal aspects and implications of contracts, terms and conditions, negotiation, etc. to allow constructing contracts with minimizing risk

+ Prior experience in project level proposal development, contract negotiation and execution is strongly preferred

+ Integrative team working style

+ Vibration monitoring industry knowledge and experience

+ Experience leading virtual teams

+ Knowledge of how transactions affect the business model (both BHGE and customer)
