Job Description:
In this role, utilize your knowledge of commercial property, auto and liability claims to investigate, evaluate, reserve and resolve claims to achieve appropriate outcomes. Provide superior customer service to internal and external business partners. Administer and resolve assigned claims in a timely manner, in accordance to jurisdictional requirements, policy coverages and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
* Promptly investigate all assigned claims for coverage, liability, damages, subrogation and contribution.
* Ensures timely disposition of all claims in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
* Within granted authority, establish appropriate loss and expense reserves with documented rationale.
* Maintain and adjust reserves over the life of the claim to reflect changes in exposure.
* Notify appropriate claims management when exposure exceeds authority.
* Negotiate claims resolution within granted authority.
* Establish and execute appropriate action plans for claim resolution including loss cost management while achieving appropriate balance between allocated expense and loss outcome.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external business partners in investigating and reaching appropriate disposition of all claims.
* Select and manage service vendors to achieve appropriate balance between allocated expense and loss outcome.
* Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and jurisdictional requirements for assigned claims territory.
* Demonstrate technical proficiency through timely, consistent execution of best claim practices and established claims handling guidelines.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external customers on claims and account issues.
* Maintain and manage a diary system and claim pending to efficiently and effectively resolve all claims.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor s degree and one year or more of equivalent work experience in an insurance related industry required.
* At least 1 to 2 years of auto or liability claims experience including bodily injury features; commercial lines experience strongly preferred.
* Familiarity with coverage, negligence principles, investigation and negotiation techniques.
* Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
* Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and exercise good judgment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Computer literacy, including working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

* The Basel II Wholesale Commercial IT workstream requires an IT Project Manager to manage a new Rating Scale Implementation project that will impact multiple Commercial IT Systems.
* This resource will be responsible for not only managing a core project, but will also need to coordinate and may manage resources who are matrixed to the team from each source system requiring remediation efforts (extended project team).
* As a result, this project manager will need to manage and drive multiple parallel development efforts while ensuring compliance with all Basel II PMO and Audit standards.
* Almost all development efforts will be executed within an Agile methodology.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Proven Project Management experience leading IT development or IT technology projects (Over 3 years)
* Commercial Scorecards/Models projects background is strongly preferred, but not required
* Proven ability to lead a team to desired outcome and establish working relationships with fellow team members
* Works under general direction and independently determines/develops approach to solutions
* Proven ability to manage multiple ongoing development efforts across multiple execution teams in different locations, and drive results through coordination of task completion, handoffs and overall delivery of solution
* Ability to quickly grasp business intent of development efforts
* Familiarity with Clarity or similar project portfolio management tool
* Strong written and oral communications
* A working knowledge of the IT development life cycle

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the U.S. Life Insurance (USLI) Chief Financial Officer, the VP, FP&A - will serve as a strategic member of the USLI Finance Leadership team. Additionally, the VP, FP&A will lead the Product Finance team in translating financial results, projections, and business data into meaningful financial profiles e that enables adeeper understanding of results and allows for recommended changes in product profitability and/or evolution of business strategies.
Specific responsibilities include:
o Analysis of Actual to Plan - Variance Explanations and Trending.
o Preparation of Multiyear Plan, short and long range forecasting and updating projections.
o Preparation of financial narratives, balance sheet analysis, financial presentation packages and communication of risks/opportunities.
o Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet regulatory and reporting deadlines. Ad hoc presentations and analysis for management and Corporate to communicate results.
o Participate in the segments quarter and year end FP&A process including participation in conference calls and preparation of standard schedules and analyses.
o Profitability of Leadership Product Lines covering both GAAP & STAT bases of accounting.
o Preparation of Projections for Proposed New Business Lines.
. Serve as a key financial business partner to the Product organization providing guidance and analysis related to product operations this will include revenue and cost analysis, financial leadership intelligence and support and driving operational initiatives, reporting, and modeling.
. Collaborate on segment and business reviews with the segment CFO and other business leaders.
. Manage a staff of up to 15 associates and champion talent development across the Product Finance organization to build technical and leadership capabilities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
. BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance
. 15+ years of finance experience in progressively larger roles, including broad management roles.
. Minimum of 8 years experience in broad business management role within the financial services industry or insurance industry
. Broad understanding of U.S. GAAP and Statutory reporting for insurance companies
. Ability to manage and develop in a matrix organization, working closely with senior management
. Ability to effectively interface with senior management
. Proven track record of independent analysis development
. Initiative and desire to drive change and enhance processes
. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
. CPA or CPA candidate a plus
. MBA a plus
. Broad knowledge of individual US life and health products
. Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
. Able to work effectively within time constraints independently; must be flexible
