* Underwrite, structure and document independently all new client transactions and requests below a designated threshold
* Level 3 Underwriter is a senior position, with focus on transactions of significant size, risk and complexity.
* Level 3 underwriters may have segment and/or industry specialization (i.e. collateral based lines of credit, real estate transactions, and transactions of a specialized nature, such as lending to municipalities, private wealth clients and SBA).
* Acts with autonomy in rendering approvals/declines.
* While following the established credit policy as the guideline, understands the mitigation factors for the particular client or transaction that allows policy exceptions.
* May have accountability for overseeing the work on junior underwriters
Qualifications:
Grade 47 - Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of accounting
* Foundational understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flows
* Strong credit and underwriting skills; understanding of Bank's credit profile, credit policies, and risk management objectives
* Strong analytical and technical skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
* Minimum of 3 years prior experience in complex commercial credit underwriting, and/ or specialty lending
Grade 47 - Preferred Requirements
* 4-5 years of Commercial Banking Underwriting experience
* Skills, ability, and knowledge attained from having experience within SBA (Small Business Association) loans.
Grade 48 - Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
* Knowledge of accounting
