Medical and Technical/Laboratory Staff

Job Description:
TheAmerican Red Cross Reference Laboratory located inWest Henrietta, NYis seeking candidates for a Laboratory Supervisor.
Evening shift 4:00pm-12:30am with rotating on-call responsibilities after hours and on weekends.
* Supervise staff performing basic and advanced test procedures and interpreting complex test results to determine donor/recipient compatibility.
* Advise technologists in resolving compatibility problems, providing reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion facilities and in supplying antigen-negative units to transfusion recipients.
* Provide complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and positive professional image.
* Assure compliance with safety policies and procedures in the work area.
* May involve variable locations and some travel.
* On call responsibilities.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in a biological or related field and SBB (ASCP)/equivalent preferred.
* Three years of high complexity blood bank testing experience required,
* 1 year of management experience or training required.
* Leadership and supervision skills.
* State license may be required where applicable.
