Job Description

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties. Employee must attend all safety and quality control training required by state, federal and Morningstar.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Be familiar with all applicable sanitizing and cleaning procedures for equipment assigned to including, understanding of chemical safety guidelines. Employee must perform all job functions in a safe and sanitary manner.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 system as defined in the SQF 2000 Code.
Employee must attend all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Food Safety, and Food Security training required by state, federal and Morningstar Foods Tulare
Employee must insure compliance of the following, but not limited to CalARP/PSM, lock out tag out, confined space, respirator fit, sanitation, GMP, and chemical training.
Any absence in this position will be covered by qualified trained personnel.
Reliable attendance is a Bona fide requirement
