Safety Supervisor
Job Description:
Purpose of Function
? Provide support to executive and operations management with execution of sustainable process improvements, compliance assurance, and incident and risk reduction strategies.
Responsibilities
? Support executive management by serving as subject matter expert in assigned areas through interpreting regulations and providing guidance on the development and implementation of HSE & Sustainability initiatives across the business.
? Plan, organize, and prioritize HSE & Sustainability resources, activities, and strategies in support of company objectives.
? Design and document policies and procedures utilizing best practices and global systems for maximum efficiency and consistency. Adjust existing policies as necessary.
? Assure compliance to internal HSE policies and applicable local regulations through site visits, completion of internal HSE audits, and/or coordination of HSE audits.
? Provide support to internal customers by serving as subject matter expert on HSE & Sustainability requirements, interpreting regulations, providing guidance on the development of programs, and mentoring HSE staff.
? Monitor and interpret applicable HSE regulatory changes and develop appropriate strategies for implementation.
? Develop and deliver HSE education in support of policies and/or initiatives where applicable within the business.
? As necessary support facilities during inspections, communication, and other interactions with regulatory agencies.
? Represent external business interests and positions through organizational networking, building relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies, and supporting other business personnel as requested.
? Communicate HSE incidents and corrective actions in a timely, thorough, and effective manner to assure understanding at all affected operations.
? Participate on all mergers/acquisitions to evaluate HSE risks and liabilities for potential purchases and disposals.
? Lead investigations with regard to serious incidents including but not limited to fatality, catastrophic events, fires, and explosions.

? Knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations, and concepts.
? Ability to read, understand, and decipher technical information in determining applicability to site processes.
? Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a variety of internal and external contacts.
? Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and manage numerous work tasks of a diverse nature.
Qualifications
2-3 years previous HSE experience in a supervisory role. Bachelors degree preferred.
