1. Super Outgoing
90% of the job is doing cold calls outside of the office to promote urgent care and grow our occupational medicine business by selling our services to potential users.
2. Time Management
You must be able to manage your time wisely and be willing to put in as many hours per week as needed. This is not a job for someone who simply wants to punch a time clock and earn a paycheck. It is a job for someone who wants to own their position and grow the business.
3. Outside Sales
If you''ve never wanted a career in outside sales, this position isn''t for you.
If you love doing outside sales, meeting people, and helping them learn how the services you have to offer are beneficial for them, this position could be a perfect fit.
4. Self Starter
If you need someone continually telling you what to do, this position isn''t for you.
If, after completing training and reviewing a marketing plan, you''re the type of person who can run with it and find new and even better ways of doing things on your own, you''ll thrive.
If you''re easily deterred by rejection, this position isn''t for you.
If every time you hear the word ,no, you''re continually looking for a new way to turn that into a ,yes, this position is for you.
If you''re not organized, this position isn''t for you.
If you enjoy having many irons in the fire at one time and thrive on managing them and your time effectively, you''ll do well!
7. Have an Entrepreneurial Spirit
If you''re looking to just earn a paycheck, this job isn''t for you.
If you''re ready to take ownership of the company and have a burning desire to grow the business and put in the hours it takes to successfully build a business, you''ll thrive. This often means working on things at home, working evenings and Saturdays, and working more than a traditional 40 hours per week. As a community educator, a big part of the success of the business ultimately falls on how well you market the business to bring in new patients.
8. Ability to Develop Strategic Sales Planning
While a basic company marketing plan will be provided for you, along with access to all of the training materials and resources we have, it is your job to develop a strategic sales plan for your territory to ensure you reach your goals for both new patient numbers and for occupational medicine numbers.
9. Negotiating Skills
If you don''t like to negotiate, this job isn''t for you.
This goes along with number five (persuasive). There will be moments in your job when you must negotiate everything from media contract rates to closing a new account. If you enjoy the challenge and excitement of closing a deal, you''ll love your career.
10. Relationship Building
If you''re shy and/or don''t love people, this job isn''t for you.
