Responsibilities include collaborating with IT systems to validate that diagnoses and procedures codes are compliant with the new coding standards for receiving and processing the new codes. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:· Bachelor degree in Health Information Administration, Associate degree in Health Information Technology, or a Certified Coding certificate from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) required.· AHIMA Approved ICD-10 Trainer preferred.· A minimum of 2 years ofexpert knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) coding, Diagnosis Related Group's (DRG) and Ambulatory Payment Classification's (APC) required.· Understanding of current billing and regulatory requirements, including federal compliance regulations and coding guidelines is preferred; the ability to work with chargemaster development and revenue cycle processes in relation to ICD-10is preferred.
