Job Description:
This Nurse Practitioner will provide nursing home coverage at 3 of the local nursing homes. We are seeking candidates who would be interested in either 1.0 FTE or .5 FTE.
Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse Practice and Nurse Practitioner Certification to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization.
The Nurse Practitioner works both as an independent practitioner and as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team with adult medicine to deliver primary medical management for the elderly. Determines normal or abnormal findings, treats chronic or acute illnesses. The Nurse Practitioner and the Physician collaborate on a case-by-case basis. Develops physician and patient relationships which promote utilization of and satisfaction with services at PeaceHealth Medical Group. Performs a variety of technical procedures. Assignment and locations of work may vary between three community extended care facilities.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Graduate of Accredited School offering an Advanced Degree in Nurse Practice (ARNP).
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed to practice in the state as a Nurse Practitioner. Proof of current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire. Have national prescriptive drug privileges with a DEA number.
OTHER SKILLS: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments. Personal responsibility for ongoing educational growth, and collaborating with others to provide solutions for continued patient quality.
