Administrative Specialist CL1-Piscataquis County (id:45219)

**Position is available to employees of the Associated C.O.L.T. Staff of the University of Maine from December 13, 2017 through December 20, 2017 and open to external applicants thereafter.**
Part-time, regular twelve-month position, 24 hours per week, 3 days per week, 8 hours a day. Daily work hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch break. This position pays $12.69/hour. The start date for this position is as soon as possible.
The Administrative Specialist performs administrative tasks in support of the Piscataquis County Extension Office and serves as the primary contact for internal and external clients and will work independently and collaboratively with the supervisor to ensure timely and effective office operations.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:
* Composes, edits, and reviews a variety of standard and specialized correspondence, reports, documents, application materials, forms, and memos.
* Screens calls and visitors.
* Processes and distributes office mail.
* Operates office equipment.
* Organizes and maintains files, including creating and maintaining confidential office/employee files.
* Assists with meeting room scheduling.
* Schedules meetings and coordinates conferences.
* Monitors, maintains, and orders office supplies.
* Develops and maintains professional relationships that reflect courtesy, civility, and mutual respect.
* Performs other reasonably related administrative duties as assigned.
**Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications**:
* ** Required**
* High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
* Sufficient experience, including one year of administrative/office experience.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Demonstrated skills in operating office equipment (copiers, scanners, faxes, etc.)
* Effective written, oral, electronic, and interpersonal communication skills.
* **Preferred**
* Demonstrated skills in prioritization, workload management, and multitasking.
* Experience working with UMS programs and related systems (i.e. MaineStreet, Marketplace, Concur, PCard, PeopleSoft).
* Experience working with Constant Contact, Facebook and Wordpress.
* Effective recordkeeping skills.
Appropriate background checks are required.
