Job Summary: The Nurse Practioner is responsiblefor providing primary healthcare to patients and families, focusing on Sleep Medicine, health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Works according to Maine State Rules and Regulations following established Policies and Procedures as required and within established scope of practice.Performs patient care both in the outpatient setting under the supervision of Central Maine Sleep Center.
The NP is accountable for delivering optimal patient care through effective clinical practice, educating the patient and patient's family members, and other clinical staff. The NP is responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis and determining a plan to ensure proper and complete patient care. The Family Practice NP utilizes advanced specialty knowledge to ensure that exceptional care is provided in an appropriate, effective, timely and cost-efficient manner.
Requirements: Current Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse license in the State of Maine. Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practioner''s program. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or certification eligible. Certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment. Current BCLS Certification. Current ACLS Certification preferred.
