Responsible for selling IDEXX products and services to customers and prospects over the phone. Identifies and generates demand among customers. Leverages strengths of the IDEXX portfolio, promotional offerings and targeted sales approach to drive profitable revenue and customer satisfaction.




PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



+ Prioritizes and makes phone calls to prospects and existing customers to:



+ Close new accounts forPet Network Pro, Pet Health Network 3D, Payment Solutions and Data Back-up & Recovery Services


+ May cross-sell additional products,


+ Probe for and address competitive activity



+ Prioritizes and schedules proactive phone calls to Computer Systems accounts.


+ Provide webinars for customers on PHN Pro.


+ Maintains contact database with accurate profiles, notes and opportunity information.


+ Completes training on IDEXX markets, products and selling skills.


+ Attends industry shows in territory as necessary.


+ Coordinate sales opportunities that span multiple IDEXX products involving multiple IDEXX sales representatives.


+ Performs other duties as required.


+ Adheres to and models the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles.



Job Qualifications


EDUCATION:



+ Bachelor's degree in a business or scientific discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.



EXPERIENCE:



+ 2-4 years of sales or applicable business experience involving direct customer contact preferably in companion animal health, biotechnology, healthcare or diagnostics and/or hardware products.


+ Prior inside sales experience preferred


+ Understanding of the veterinary diagnostic market and experience in healthcare or scientific industry a plus.



REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



+ Strong phone presence


+ Sales ability and persuasiveness.


+ Ability to negotiate and close sales.


+ Strong communications skills including writing, listening and questioning.


+ Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish rapport quickly.


+ Capability to absorb and articulate technical information.


+ Highly motivated and goal oriented.


+ Strong organizational skills, especially in a multi-tasking environment.


+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


+ Computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook).



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



+ Extensive sitting, phone and computer use.


+ Weekend hours and weekday overtime may be required.


+ Some travel may be required.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



+ General office environment.


+ Normal office noise level, with occasional moderate noise.
