Job Description: We are looking for a Sr. level Network Engineer to help develop, install, maintain, and enhance SVB's Global Networking Infrastructure. This includes day to day operations, specification, testing and hands on implementation of innovative solutions to solve our ongoing Business needs. The ideal candidate will have a broad background in LAN/WAN and Voice maintenance and Implementation; Network Services such as WAN Optimization, Load Balancing, VoIP, Video Conferencing, Contact Center, Multicast,. This position will require extensive hands on experience in debugging and fixing production related problems that are escalated to the Network Operations group. A strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork will be required as this individual will be in a position to influence and lead change within the IT Organization.
Skills and Requirements: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software in a global network environment.
Manage physical network connectivity in Data Centers and Remote Sites.
Monitor network utilization, capacity, and quality.
Detect, diagnose, and resolve network problems using methods that minimally impact our Production Environment.
Participate in infrastructure capacity planning and expansion activities.
Analyze current and new network service requirements and provide appropriate solution proposals where needed.
Support systems and application teams in identifying and resolving complex functional issues, helping to identify or rule out network issues
Provide peer review to other network engineers to validate proposed configurations and designs. Participate in complex team projects in both a contributor and lead role
Maintain network security controls and compliance on all network hardware
Manage and work on tickets for Networking Group
