Title: Human Factors Engineer
Location: FL-Melbourne
PDS is seeking a Human Factors Engineer for an open position in Melbourne, FL.
In your role, you will:
* Be responsible for providing Human Factors/Human Machine Interface (HF/HMI) support on the VXX Presidential rotorcraft program proposal.
* Support the proposal manager and prepare inputs for both the technical volume and the cost volume of the proposal. The primary focus will be on aircrew (pilot) interfaces and maintenance interfaces associated with an existing production rotorcraft.
* Be responsible for reviewing HF/HMI customer requirements on the VXX Presidential rotorcraft program and assessing the ability of the production system to meet those requirements.
* Provide technical solutions, where appropriate, that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.
As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
* BS Degree in Human Factors Engineering or a closely related field of study (e.g., Applied Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Engineering) and 9-13 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
* Must have a breadth and depth of understanding of the current state-of-the-art in HF/HMI and be personally knowledgeable of ongoing technology developments and emerging science in this field.
* A current DoD Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* MS Degree in Human Factors Engineering or a closely related field of study and 7-11 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
* A current DoD Secret clearance is required.
* Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to effectively coordinate with an interdisciplinary, multi-company team of engineers.
This position may require you to submit to and pass a drug test and/or background check.
If this is a hands-on position, you may also be required to pass a safety and productivity examination.
