The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks an electric power systems professional for our Market Manager position in power generation business development. This position operates with a high degree of independence and affords opportunity to work with U.S.-based and international customer accounts. This position will provide both technical and marketing guidance to SEL sales channel partners, operating in North America and abroad.
SEL's corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located in Eastern Washington where you''ll train, temporarily. You will have a high degree of freedom to choose a permanent work location that suits your personal choices and work assignment. While training in Eastern Washington, you'll have easy access to recreational activities in nearby mountains, rivers, and forests, as well as great schools, universities, and overall quality of life. You are welcome and encouraged to consider Eastern Washington and our corporate campus as your new home and permanent work location.
The ideal candidate will have electrical engineering experience within the oil, gas, and/or petrochemical industries. Candidates with less, and/or different engineering qualifications will be considered if there is at least five years of hands-on experience with industrial power systems. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience in customer-facing sales, marketing, and/or business development positions. Work history in technical support-related assignments will receive further consideration.
Power Plants Business Development ManagerResponsibilities:
* Develop and implement a strategy for sales growth in the power generation market.
* Translate power plant knowledge into opportunities, product requirements, and sales channels.
* Leverage relationships with other vendors to build SEL position within the power generation market.
* Promote SEL engineering services as the preferred supplier of SEL solutions.
* Create and execute go-to-market strategies. This includes pricing, positioning, forecasting, competitive market research/analysis, and developments of sales collateral and promotional content.
* Develop marketing and sales collateral.
* Build relationships and leverage sales channels into SEL sales opportunities.
* Propose and create technical papers and presentations to promote SEL technologies.
* Train the sales force on the benefits of SEL market solutions and visit customers.
* Measure and improve SEL''s position in the power plant market.Qualifications:
* Bachelors of Science degree in a technical discipline
* Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
* Experience in developing lasting customer, channel and partner relationships
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
