About The Position
The internal Communications Manager will help set, direct and implement communication strategies for the brand. Specific Accountabilities
* Develops and executes strategic internal communications campaigns to inform, educate and positively influence internal audiences.
* Serves as the primary internal communications contact assisting with stories and communication plans that will support the company's initiatives and efforts.
* Develops and implements comprehensive internal communications programs.
* Leads efforts to facilitate positive influence on internal perceptions of the organization.
* Helps develop and execute Corporate Responsibility Strategy for enterprise.
* Sets communication strategy and direction for the Kansas City Restaurant Support Center.
* Write internal communications, news releases, web portal messages, and other internal messages.
* Work with internal business partners to distribute internal messages, reviewing messages for compliance with communications guidelines.
* Support internal meetings by coordinating invites, assisting with the development of presentation materials, and providing onsite technical support to ensure smooth delivery.
* Support the Executive Director of Applebee’s Communications on internal marketing initiatives including event planning, messaging, and project management.
* Assist with the implementation of communication projects.
* Provide back-up support for the intranet and extranet, including posting stories, providing basic technical support, portlet development, and story writing.
* Help with other internal communication vehicles as needed.
* May manage media contact.
Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
* 6-10 years experience in a corporate communications/public affairs role
* Demonstrated experience in developing communication plans/ materials
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong public speaking skill
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under extreme pressure
