Summary
Senior level engineer responsible for the engineering project work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties as assigned.)
. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work activities.
. Ensures the effective pursuit and completion of engineering projects and programs within budgetary guidelines while maintaining the standards of engineering excellence.
. Reviews and approves engineering designs.
. Directs the development of new methods or techniques.
. Maintains contact with client representatives to ensure good communication and satisfactory progress of contract deliverables.
. Has the ability to perform as a project manager
. Continually establishes and/or reviews technical design, criteria, and specifications for all electrical systems; communicates to other engineers through standard details, Annual Report, and Master Specifications.
. Prepares and/or reviews engineering estimates for planning purposes.
. Represents the discipline in key interdepartmental and client conference.
. Collaborates with peers to create new ways of saving money for the client.
. Assists project engineers in the selection of equipment.
. Reviews calculations, sketches, and layouts of other engineers and designers.
. Develops budgets, plans, forecasts, and plans own workload.
. Prepares or reviews specifications, calculations, and technical studies.
. Works with suppliers to develop new technical concepts.
. Good problem-solving skills.
. Develops and prioritizes facilities improvement projects.
. Must have good written and verbal communications skills.
. Must be able to work on spreadsheets, word processors, e-mail, and PC's.
