LIMS and Data Manager, Gene Expression Technology Team The Gene Expression Technology Team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join a multi-disciplinary effort to provide LIMS and data management support to a dynamic organization whose focus it to deliver promoters and other regulatory DNA sequences to the Biotechnology organization. A successful candidate will leverage experience with software development and database management to design, implement & maintain lab data management solutions including LIMS across multiple laboratories in the US and international sites. Responsibilities . Platform Maintenance and Support. The successful candidate will diagnose and resolve technical issues in any of four working environments and maintain operability of LabWare LIMS, its modules, and environmental variables, including integrations to other corporate systems. The candidate will also share responsibility to support our change management, deployment, and infrastructure components of the platform. . Requirements and Documentation. The candidate will document lab functional requirements to effectively plan, design, and implement software solutions for LIMS enhancements or other modules as needed. . Development. Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining LabWare LIMS and other peripheral tools. The role will involve coordinating efforts working with multiple teams including other IT professionals, data managers and bench scientists. . Data management. Duties will include but not limited to data queries, KPI tracking, and aligning gene expression data needs across company wide data systems.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
. A BS or MS in a Life Science or Computer Science related field.
. The candidate must have excellent communication skills necessary to successfully interact with software developers, team leads, and business customers. Ability to effectively participate in teams, and network and share information with other data managers.
. The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of driving towards results independently. Strong organization skills; strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven skills in diagnosing and remediating technical challenges.
. A minimum of 2 years professional work experience is essential with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative software development environment
. A minimum of 2 years of programming experience in one or more of these languages: Java, .NET/C#, PERL, Python, LabWare LIMS Basic.
. A minimum of 2 years experience using relational database (MS Access, Oracle, SQL Server) and database admin software such as SQL navigator, Toad, SQL Server Management Studio.
. Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple assignments is a must.
. Willingness for occasional travel
