Department Description The Portfolio and Business Operations organization is focused on driving the strategic vision for GSS, prioritizing GSS projects and investments, and identifying M & A or partnership targets to enhance capabilities. In addition, the team drives support of the GSS business through Service Tools and Applications, Knowledge Management, and Resource Management
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
Leads multiple small projects or portions of larger projects. Directs and coordinates the work activities of project staff.
Conducts in-depth analysis employing both standard and new methods.
Creates methods and models to evaluate financial viability of various scenarios.
Develops and implements short-term business plans to achieve revenue in current and new markets. Presents plans to management.
Coordinates budgeting and operational planning around revenue opportunities.
Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met. Determines and develops approach to solutions.
Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
May influence the activities of junior level personnel (exempt professional and non-exempt).
Networks with senior, internal and external, personnel in own area of expertise.
Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Represents the organization on projects and may perform in project leadership role.
Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
Bachelor's degree (Finance, Business major strongly preferred). Advanced degree a plus, but not required.
6+ years of experience as a business analyst.
Excellent communication skills
Well versed in Microsoft Office products
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
