Title: Collector - Insurance Follow Up Rep - BC/BS
Location: IL-Waukegan (Chicago region)
Essential duties Include but are not limited to:
. Blue Cross Representative is responsible for the accurate follow-up of Blue Cross accounts demonstrating a thorough understanding of Blue Cross reimbursement, and claim processing.
. Review/work facility Blue Cross Collector work-list to include overpaid accounts and makes appropriate corrections necessary to ensure reimbursement in a timely manner
. Document status of payment in patient accounting on all outstanding accounts
. Reviews the daily remittance advice/voucher and takes appropriate action, including follow up on denials and payment errors. Ensures proper allowances are posted
. Resolve COB discrepancies
* Knowledge of Blue Cross billing and collection regulations
* Familiar with UB04
* Minimum 2-3 years of medical accounts receivable experience preferred
* High School Diploma
