Customer Service Representative

Responsible for processing customer requests by obtaining clear, concise directions and patient information. Must have knowledge of the hospital facility and services/ Must be prompt, courteous, and customer service oriented in all interactions with patients, visitors and co-workers. Collaborates with team members as well as other support service departments.This position is responsible for the documentation, communication and dispatching of a wide variety of service requests from the customers of the Service Response Center to the staff of the departments that the SRC serves.
Works cooperatively with own and other departments to continuously improve the quality of services.
Willingly adapts to changing workloads and helps others when they are busy.
Treats patients, families, physicians, volunteers, and colleagues with compassion, courtesy, respect, fairness and dignity.
Answers and processes telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner.
Deciphers information for data input into computer software applications.
Contacts appropriate individuals and relays pertinent information and/or instructions.
Prepares and distributes reports and other documents from the Service Response Center computer programs.
Maintains department records and files.
**_Minimum Education, Skills and Abilities_**
High School graduate or G.E.D.
Healthcare experience desired.
Prior experience, customer service, PBX, Front Desk or Help Desk experience desired.
Minimum typing skills of (40 WPM with a 95 % accuracy) desired.
Excellent listening skills and telephone skills.
Strong Communication skills
Requires working knowledge of learned routines, procedures and practices.
Must possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demand along with the ability to select priorities and organize the work to meet the demand.
Duties and activities covered by specific instructions and established work practices,
which may require some interpretation.
Collaborates with team in performing own duties and those of others in the team.
Supports an environment of idea sharing and feedback.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Prolonged sitting and standing.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and phone simultaneously.
This position adheres to and is responsible for the safety standards of Centegra Health System including the completion of the mandatory organizational safety standards on an annual basis.
