Job summary
As Reception Services Representative, you'll be the initial, on-premise greeter at an Ernst & Young site, providing information services and direction to employees, customers, guests and vendors. You'll be expected to present a courteous and patient image in person and over the telephone, and respond with skill and politeness to heavy surges in workload.
In this role, you'll receive general supervision, and won't have supervisory authority over others.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the initial point of contact for routing internal and external calls at an Ernst & Young site, providing information services and direction to employees, customers, guests and vendors
* Respond to calls over the firm's telephone network, while projecting a courteous and patient image. Respond to inquiries with skill and politeness. Manage large surges in workload. Provide customer-focused information services, and greet and direct guests
* Greet all Ernst & Young personnel, customers, guests, and vendors, projecting a positive, professional image
* Log in guests, customers, and vendors and inform Ernst & Young staff of their arrival
* Understand emergency procedures, and act as an extension of daytime security and property control
* Handle incoming package deliveries, maintain maintenance and requests logsOperate within established procedures and standards
* Recommend ways to improve processes and better manage expenses
* Verify guests' identity and confirm appropriate entry

* Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to effectively interface with personnel at all levels
* Dependability, business maturity, enthusiasm and a positive, professional attitude
* Strong work ethic. Ability to recognize when a job needs to be done, and to do it successfully
* Sound judgment and initiative to determine the appropriate approach for non-routine situations
* Demonstrated ability to handle administrative details, and routine day-to-day issues independently, assuming responsibility without direct supervision
Experience
* A minimum of 1-2 years reception-related experience
Education
* A high school diploma, or equivalent work experience
