Responsibilities
O'Brien & Gere is currently seeking a dynamic Energy Engineer to join our growing Energy Solutions Group. At O'Brien & Gere, we understand the need for an integrated array of solutions that encompass a broad understanding and knowledge necessary to develop comprehensive energy strategies and programs for our clients. In this role, you will work with clients across different industries and markets to develop and execute a comprehensive energy strategies and programs. The typical responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Review and verify technical merits of customer and energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications
* Support business development activities with the ability to identify opportunities within the energy market
* Proven track record of writing / producing technical reports
* Perform initial feasibility studies for energy conservation projects, including preliminary design, review of project electrical, mechanical and structural requirements, cost estimates, project savings and overall life-cycle cost analysis
* Customer site inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment
* Interact with customers to provide Environmental Analysis and Carbon Footprint Reduction, Audit and Measurement, Energy Planning and Project Development, and Renewable Energy Solutions
* Work closely with customers to improve the reliability and efficiency of their utility systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers and pumping stations
* Provide flexible support to other team members on an as-needed basis
Skills and Qualifications
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* 5-10 years relevant experience providing a wide variety of energy solutions to clients
* Experience with developing life-cycle costing and financial pro-formas to assess ROI for efficiency improvements
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* PE or ability to achieve PE preferred
* LEED AP and/or CEM desired, knowledge of renewable and alternative energy markets a plus
Salary Range Commensurate with experience
